
A contributor to the growth in every sense, Dr. Pinto took it upon
himself to rehabilitate the a village devastated by cyclone in
Balasore, Orissa.

Dr. Pinto adopted the village "Padmapur",
about 15 kms from Balasore in Orissa where 10 "pucca" houses were
built, one primary school opened, a bore well dug, and seeds and
cloth were distributed to farmers. 6 truckloads of relief material
like blankets, clothes, etc was distributed to the victims of the
super-cyclone in Orissa.


Efforts by the Sheriff of Mumbai Dr. A. F. Pinto to render some
assistance to the family members of the Aksa victims. Inoder to
share their woes and offer solace Sheriff of Mumbai Dr. A. F.
Pinto on 20 July 2000 visited the grieving families of the
helpless youngsters drowned at Aksa beach.


Accepting the cheque on behalf of the helpless families is Mr.
Chandrakant Wadkar Chairman BMC Standing Committee.
