Education
 Dr. A.F. Pinto started the 1st school in a small set up in Mumbai.
The place was small, but the dream was big and lofty; all that the
man had with him was his unfailing faith in God, his trust in
himself, the will and the determination to work very hard, till
education became a house hold name; an ongoing process of
learning, teaching and delivering. Today that one school started
27 years back, has brought on 73 schools spreading over 10 states
of India. Through him, school after school followed and today each
of the 73 schools has excelled in it's own area, standing as a
citadel of quality education with nearly 2 lakh students on roll
and educators numbering over ten thousand.
Ensuring that each unit attains 100% results at
the end stage of schooling Dr. Pinto so designed the curriculum
that, school was not only English, Hindi, Maths, Science etc. but
it was an experience loaded with incorporation of enthralling
experience with theater, film making, international exposure in
the shape of Model United Nations Conferences at home and abroad
and cultural exchange programmes for students. And many of these
activities found a place in the Limca Book of records at national
and international theater and film festivals.
Emerging out of these "never to forget
experiences," were boys and girls, who were confident, empowered
and skilled to branch out onto higher education at the prestigious
universities within the country and outside the country too.
But, for Dr. Pinto this was not all, he began
to feel the need, to now, reach out to those, who were untouched
by education. So, he started work on educating the children from
the weaker sections of the society towards whom, no attention was
paid. From within the existing infrastructures, he decided to
evolve centers of non formal education, where each one teaches
one. The poor children are picked up and are being taught English,
Hindi, Maths, for daily practical use. Meals, uniforms, books and
stationery, all is provided to them. A philanthropic gesture
indeed. Dr. Pinto believes that one cannot provide for an entire
ocean but let each drop in the ocean add a new dimension and
expanse to it.
